Virtual Training Skills for Psychological Recovery

Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR) is an evidence-informed modular intervention that aims to help survivors gain skills to manage distress and cope with post-disaster stress and adversity.

Staying Inside the Window of Tolerance: An Advanced Training on STS and Resilience STS-ISC

In this training, we will be exploring how working in a secondary trauma-exposed environment is impacting you. And, we will be reviewing strategies to mitigate those impacts. We will be using the Window of Tolerance (WOT) framework to discuss regulation, dysregulation, and as a frame for reviewing coping strategies in the face of STS. Come learn strategies to help you self-monitor and stay in your window of tolerance. Also, explore how your organization can play an important role in mitigating the effects of trauma exposure.  

Live via Zoom Project ECHO All Hands on Deck: Working Together to Create a Culture of Well-Being

Project ECHO is a collaborative model of education and care management approach that empowers professionals to use evidence and expert mentoring. This Project ECHO series will focus on creating a culture of well-being. The ECHO model uses a telementoring model of learning and skill acquisition to improve access to the specialty-focused expertise needed to address difficult and complex conditions.

Compassion-Based Practices for Secondary Traumatic Stress STS-ISC

This workshop is designed to provide helping professionals working with individuals who have experienced trauma with a compassion-based toolkit for addressing secondary traumatic stress. Following a theoretical overview, participants will engage in selected mindful compassion-based practices and interactive sharing sessions with peers. The workshop aims to empower helping professionals with the skills needed to effectively integrate these practices into their work.

University of Kentucky Community Circles Group Center on Trauma and Children

The University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children invites you to join our Community Circles Group beginning Friday, 2/16/24 at 10:00 am ET.  The purpose of these groups is to create a safe place where peer support is provided, connections are built, and valuable discussions around our professional work can take place. These Community Circles build community through intentional practices and opportunities for connection. They will be led by three of our training staff, Dr. Tracy Clemans, Dr. Leah Riggs, and Dr. Sara Reichert.

Skills for Psychological Recovery Community of Practice Call

The UK Center on Trauma and will be holding a community of practice call for those who have begun to use Skills for Psychological Recovery in their work. Please join us on Tuesday, April 18 from 12 – 1 pm (ET) to discuss the challenges of utilizing SPR, ask any lingering questions about implementation, and share your wins in using SPR in your community. We will also share resources and materials in languages other than English for those who need them in your work.
