Online Staying Inside the Window of Tolerance: An Advanced Training on Secondary Traumatic Stress and Resiliency

This free, self-paced online training is being offered by the University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children through the Secondary Traumatic Stress Innovations and Solutions Center.  We will be using the Window of Tolerance framework to discuss regulation, dysregulation, and as a frame for reviewing coping strategies in the face of secondary traumatic stress.

Live via Zoom Project ECHO Skills to Promote Psychological Recovery in the Workforce During Uncertain Times

Project ECHO is a collaborative model of education and care management approach that empowers professionals to use evidence and expert mentoring. This Project ECHO series will focus on skills to promote psychological recovery in the workforce. The ECHO model uses a telementoring model of learning and skill acquisition to improve access to the specialty-focused expertise needed to address difficult and complex conditions.

This training is focused on the types of trauma children and adults may be exposed to; the impact of trauma exposure on the developing brain and the subsequent impact on cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning; and signs and symptoms of traumatic stress and how it may manifest in a variety of settings. Participants have the opportunity to practice application of an array of trauma-informed approaches to build resilience and reduce traumatic stress symptoms. Participants are guided to identify trauma informed practices they can utilize in their workplaces.

The Trauma-Informed Care Learning Collaborative offers training to support professionals working in Kentucky on a path from introductory trauma awareness to integrated and advanced trauma-informed practices, approaches, and care. Participants will attend four learning sessions, develop a plan for starting to implement trauma-informed practices, and have an opportunity to participate in two virtual learning calls.
